
<br><br>Simple nadan ulli curry is a very quick and easy recipe made with
ulli(small onions),veluthulli(garlic),tamarind,tomato etc. Let us have
a look on how to prepare ulli curry too simply…..
INGREDIENTS:
1. Small onions (peeled) – 1/2 cup
2. Garlic (peeled) – 1/4 cup
3. Tomato – 1 big
4. Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
5. Chilly powder – 1 tsp
6. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
7. Vattal mulaku (Red dried chilly)-1 or 2
8. Curry leaves – a few
9. Cooking oil – 1 tbsp
10. Tamarind – a small gooseberry size
11. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
12. Corn flour(optional) – 1 tsp
13. Sugar/jaggery- 1 tsp
14. Salt to taste
15. Water – 1 cup
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Step 1 : Soak tamarind in 1/2 cup of water and extract the pulp.
Step 2 : Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
Step 3 : Put the peeled onions, garlic, curry leaves, vattal mulaku into the oil.
Step 4 : Sauté well for 5 mins.
Step 5: Add coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt to it.
Step 6: Put sliced tomato into it and sauté well.
Step 7: Pour tamarind extract and the remaining water into the mixture.
Step 8: Add Sugar to balance the taste and bring to boil.
Step 9: If required add diluted corn flour (Dilute 1 tsp corn flour in
1 tbsp water) to increase the thickness of the gravy.
