Chicken Tomato Curry

image Chicken lovers will definitely relish the kind of this preparation. Chicken tomato curry is a thick gravy curry which is suitable to serve with rice/chappathi/idiyappam/appam.


1. Chicken  1/2 kg

2. Chicken masala  1tbsp

3. Garam masala 1 tsp

4. Kashmiri Chilly  2tsp

5. Turmeric powder  1/2 tsp

6. Pepper powder  1/2 tsp

7. Vinegar  1tsp

8. Salt to taste

9. Big onion  1big

10. Garlic (sliced)  6 to 7

11. Ginger (sliced)  1 inch piece

12. Green chilly (sliced in half down the middle)  2 nos

13. Tomato(sliced)  1big

14. Curry leaves  a few

15. Cooking oil  1tbsp

16. Water  1tbsp


Step 1 : Marinate chicken with chicken masala, garam masala, kashmiri chilly, turmeric powder, pepper powder,vinegar and salt and keep it aside for half an hour.

Step 2 : Heat oil in a pan and put onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves and fry till the onionturns light brown.

Step 3 : Add the marinated chicken tomato and water and cover the lid of the pan.

Step 4 : Cook for 10min and then stir for 1min.

Step 5 : Again cook for another 10min and stir for 1min.

Step 6 : Remove from the flame. Make sure the water is not evaporated too much.
